This study is a part of a research project funded by the Deanship of Research, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman. It attempted to investigate the use of art as a potentially engaging subject for enhancing learners’ English-speaking skills. A descriptive, analytical, and experimental research approach was employed in this study, with a sample comprising one experimental group (21 students) that received instruction in listening and speaking through the use of art, and one control group (20 students) that followed traditional course materials. In this study, we present only the artworks generated during an art-based research project designed to teach the English language through the arts, with a focus on developing students’ speaking skills. The themes of the art projects were based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agreed by the UNESCO in 2015. The result shows that art provides a creative and imaginative platform for communication. There is growing evidence that art helps learners with English language learning. It also shows that Art-English integration helped students to speak the English language by using art forms to demonstrate their knowledge and speaking skills. It provides the learners with a platform to express their ideas in a non-linguistic form as well as in the form of English-speaking, which shows the power of art integration in teaching and learning of the English language.
