The Chat4EFL project (https://www.chat4efl.eu/) aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of English as Foreign Language (EFL) instruction in secondary schools by using AI technologies to create personalized learning experiences that address diverse student needs. It builds teachers’ digital skills, confidence, and capacity in using AI-based resources that support students’ foreign language learning. We present our Chat4EFL platform, which was developed using the BESSER agentic framework (https://github.com/BESSER-PEARL/BESSER-Agentic-Framework). The platform currently includes a grammar and a flashcard agent. In the case of grammar agent, the Large Language Model (LLM) gpt-5-mini model is used for generating questions based on the user provided context, evaluating the generated questions and the answers. In the case of flashcard agent, the LLM model is used to generate a prompt based on the user provided context and a description for the image as well. Our Chat4EFL platform offers personalized learning experiences that address three specific learning profiles: i) dyslexic students, ii) gifted students, iii) and bilingual students by adapting the content to the specific user needs.
