Educational equity remains a persistent challenge in K–12 systems globally. Despite national reform initiatives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), systematic investigations of within-school inequities remain limited, particularly in newly established public schools serving remote communities. This longitudinal quantitative study examines how systematic equity audits build leadership capacity to address institutional inequities at a KG-5 public school in the UAE. Conceptualized as a leadership development intervention, systematic equity audits provide leaders with structured mechanisms to identify institutional disparities and strengthen data-driven decision making (DDDM). Employing Skrla et al.’s (2004) equity audit framework, the study utilized a non-experimental secondary data analysis with a descriptive-comparative design to examine disparities across student groups. Data encompassed disaggregated student achievement records (N = 679), discipline referral patterns, demographic profiles, teacher quality indicators, and resource allocation metrics across two academic years, supplemented by document analysis of school policies and professional development records. Findings revealed significant gender disparities in achievement and discipline, driven primarily by instructional practices, limitations in teacher expertise, and patterns of resource allocation rather than inherent differences among students. The systematic audit process strengthened leaders’ ability to monitor equity over time and informed targeted interventions, including professional development in differentiated instruction, gender-responsive pedagogy, and more equitable resource allocation. This study contributes empirical evidence positioning systematic equity audits as dual-purpose tools: diagnostic instruments and leadership development mechanisms for advancing educational equity in UAE contexts.
