This study examines the evolving landscape of communication education in Türkiye by analyzing learning outcomes within the framework of accreditation. Focusing on the theory–practice nexus, it investigates how the standards of the Communication Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (İLEDAK) define and shape learning outcomes and how these have evolved across different criteria. A qualitative document analysis explored the integration of knowledge, practical skills, and competencies with theoretical foundations, applied learning, and ethical responsibilities. Findings indicate that İLEDAK standards promote a balanced approach across knowledge, practice-oriented skills, and broader competencies. Practical abilities are emphasized, while ethical responsibility, social awareness, and civic engagement are strongly foregrounded, reflecting commitment to socially responsible education. Digital competencies—including artificial intelligence, data literacy, and digital communication tools—are increasingly integrated, demonstrating responsiveness to a rapidly evolving media environment. The study highlights İLEDAK’s critical role in institutionalizing quality assurance in Turkish communication education and emphasizes the ongoing need to update learning outcomes in line with technological advances, changing professional practices, and societal expectations. While the framework effectively integrates theory, practice, and ethics, future revisions could clarify implementation across diverse programs and more fully address emerging digital competencies. Comparative analyses with international standards may further align Turkish communication education with global trends, ensuring graduates are prepared for evolving professional and societal challenges. By linking theory, practice, and ethics, this analysis frames communication education in Türkiye as a dynamic, adaptive, and forward-looking field capable of equipping graduates to navigate the complex demands of contemporary media and communication ecosystems.
