Research indicates that the prevalence of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may be higher in Arab nations compared to Western countries, with environmental factors largely contributing to this disparity. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of ADHD among school-aged children within Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A total of 5,988 participants, ranging from 5 to 17 years of age, were evaluated for ADHD symptoms using the ADHD Rating Scale—5 for Children and Adolescents (DuPaul et al., 2016). The findings revealed an ADHD prevalence of 12.7% among boys and 10.57% among girls, based on teacher reports. When parent reports were utilized, the prevalence was found to be 13.7% for boys and 8.3% for girls. These results suggest that ADHD is more prevalent in Saudi Arabia than in both Western countries and other Arab nations.
